Bio

Dorothy is a PhD candidate and joined TEAL in 2024. Her academic career has taken her all over the world, including the University of Ghana Legon, University of Evora (Portugal), Aristotle University of Thessaloniki (Greece), and Sapienza University of Rome (Italy). After getting her PhD, Dorothy wants to become a lecturer in Canada and start a family. She is our resident dancer and can often be found singing along to music while working in the lab. She is very passionate about scarves and has many creative hobbies like crocheting, scrapbooking, and baking pastries. Dorothy has an ongoing feud with Moses over which country is better at making Jolof, Nigeria or Ghana (clearly Dorothy comes down on the side of Ghana). She loves wearing pink, but she is sure that she will start wearing only gray once she turns 30. Dorothy is the heart of the lab and can make anyone’s day better just by saying hi, which is why she has won the Corrie Hyland Award for Positivity two years in a row. Bio by Ash Buchanan.
