Enya Schroeder
Archaeology B.Sc. Student (2025-)

Bio
A sucker for academic punishment, Enya is at Trent working on her second undergraduate degree in the Archaeology program. Originally from Petawawa, Ontario, Enya completed her first degree in Psychology and Sociology at the University of Ottawa and then took to the skies to spend a year jet-setting around Europe. She lived on and off in the stunning city of Prague during that time, where she worked as both a tour guide and a bartender. In between her stints in Prague, Enya was able to visit Bosnia, Croatia, and most of the other countries in central/eastern Europe. This incredible European adventure prompted Enya’s love for planes, which she strongly believes are humanity’s most brilliant feat of technology – especially the Boeing 787-9, which is her all-time favourite plane. When she isn’t plane-spotting or working away at her degree, Enya enjoys watching the Lord of the Rings movies, listening to Celtic music, and hanging out with her all-time best friend (and family dog) Dexter. Enya joined the TEAL team this year as a research assistant, and – after spending the summer crushing over 600 plant samples collected from all over PEI - is eagerly awaiting the arrival of even more plants that Dr. Szpak will inevitably bring back to the lab from future vacations.
