Matt is our resident Pollyanna and one-time winner of the Corrie Hyland Award for positivity. A TEAL mainstay, Matt is also the namesake of the Matt Teeter Award, given annually to the lab member who breaks the most things or most expensive things. Matt has won this award the past two years, which he claims is a byproduct of his many responsibilities in the lab. He was the only nominee and the voting was unanimous. 
As the manager of the light stable isotopes side of the Trent Water Quality Centre, Matt imperturbably operates and maintains analytical instruments that many TEAL samples are run on. He also has a background in biological anthropology, which is evident in the hundreds—perhaps thousands—of skeleton-themed decorations in his house. 
Outside of the lab, Matt is a dedicated father to his clone, Max, and his snake-dog (a sort of chimera that steals blankets and your heart), Winston. He enjoys high fantasy such as Lord of the Rings, the Hobbit movies (which he insists—incorrectly—are just as good), and Harry Potter (Matt describes himself as a Hufflepuff despite clearly being a Slytherin). Matt’s other hobbies include golfing, jealously making fun of people from the West—ahem, Best—Coast, and silversmithing. Bio by Alex Derian.
